Fulcrum BioEnergy is developing a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) facility at the Essar Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in Cheshire, in the North West of England.

Fulcrum NorthPoint is an advanced low carbon fuel facility that will convert non-recyclable and residual wastes into around 100 million litres of SAF per year for use by airlines operating at UK airports.

We want to get your views as we prepare a planning application which we expect to submit to Cheshire West & Chester Council in 2024.

WHAT IS SAF?

SAF is a low carbon alternative to traditional fossil-derived jet fuel that can be produced from sustainable sources, such as non-recyclable residual wastes that would otherwise be incinerated or landfilled. Using SAF can reduce CO2 emissions on a lifecycle basis, compared to the fossil-derived jet fuel it replaces.  It can also help improve air quality around airports.
